2023 Shanghai International Advanced Rail Transit Technology Exhibition has come to a successful close. Themed “Enabling Smart Rail Transit, Leading a Sustainable Future”, the three-day exhibition offered comprehensive displays that immersed visitors in a rail transit journey combining green development and intelligent technology. As an invited company, MB Connectivity took part in the exhibition and presented its latest products and technologies.        As is well known, MB Connectivity, as a special cable manufacturer originating in Italy, is one of CRRC’s most important partners for locomotive cables. All of the rolling stock manufacturers exhibiting this year are existing customers of MB Connectivity, and we cooperate extensively and deeply with them in fields such as urban rail, EMUs and locomotives. In urban rail, our products are used in metro projects in more than 30 cities in China and abroad; in the EMU field, our products cover Hexie and Fuxing series EMU trains of every speed class; and in the locomotive field, our products are used on multiple national railway locomotive platforms, including six-axle, eight-axle and power-concentrated EMU platforms.

        In addition to our traditional cable business, in recent years the company has deeply expanded and integrated its business areas, covering wire harness integration, intelligent maintenance services, and intelligent monitoring technology services for natural resources and infrastructure. Three new business units have been established accordingly: the Wire Harness Division, the Intelligent Maintenance Division and the Shanghai R&D Centre.

        The Wire Harness Division already produces custom-made professional integrated harnesses of all kinds for well-known companies in China and abroad in the rail transit, wind power and new energy vehicle sectors. The product range includes high-voltage and extra-high-voltage harnesses, dynamic power jumper harnesses, network communication harnesses and optical fibre transmission harnesses.

        The Intelligent Maintenance Division is dedicated to providing high-quality products, technical consulting and services to the railway bureau group companies under China State Railway Group, the railway engineering bureau groups and rail transit companies across the country. Its products are mainly powered by high-performance lithium batteries and are developed, manufactured and sold with intelligence as the main focus.

        The Shanghai R&D Centre provides integrated, high-precision, power-free sensor products, edge computing terminals, and data protocol integration, operation and maintenance and analysis services that comply with government and industry standards, for geological hazard monitoring and early warning and for health monitoring of high-speed railways, highways, bridges and tunnels.

        The Outline for Building China’s Strength in Transport, issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, states that China will essentially become a country with strong transport capability by 2035. Smart transport is to be developed vigorously, promoting new energy, clean energy, intelligent, digital, lightweight and environmentally friendly transport equipment and complete sets of technical equipment, as well as the application of intelligent inspection, monitoring, operation and maintenance technologies for transport equipment. Against this backdrop, we are keenly aware of the weight of our responsibility and the long road ahead. Going forward, MB Connectivity will answer the nation’s call and contribute its modest part to smart transport, actively exploring intelligent operation and maintenance of track maintenance equipment and drawing deeply on technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and the Internet of Things, in order to provide our customers with more and better products and services.
